IDK, it's big, heavy, and needs a lot of work. It seems like a good idea, but will turn into $10K really quickly.
I texted the link to a Mopar buddy and didn't say anything. He texted back a picture of a 318 Magnum block he has in his garage. I'm not getting any discouragement here.
I sent the link to SWMBO and she said I should get it. I said "I have three projects already that I don't have time for." She said I should still get it.
I have seen a surprising number of those things for sale in the past couple of years. I never knew they existed until then.
I have been wanting one of the same era Plymouth Suburban wagons ever since I saw one maybe 35 years ago. It was extremely nice and being driven by an elderly gentleman in Smokemont campground in Cherokee, NC.

Rust city!
I've seen worse go for $3000.

I've seen people _ask_ $3000 for worse. Whether they ever actually get that or not...people seem to forget that most old cars aren't ever going to be worth any particularly valuable sum of money, regardless of how nice they are. And that U-ship is a thing, and $1000 buys either a bunch of patch panels or shipment of a rust-free chassis from somewhere in the land of radio stations that start with the letter 'K'.
Put a diesel in it.
Are you also part of the "Pennsylvania projects for sale\trade $3000./and under" FB group? Lot of junk but sometimes something interesting rolls across there. One day I'll make it to the Challenge.

This was my profession for many years - Customs (with a C, not a K, there is a difference). They get it. Maybe not in Central PA, but they get it.
A 51 Merc in this condition goes for $15k at least in many markets.

I love that you said the "D" word.
I'll have to find that group.
Better yet, park it in a barn and drag it out in 10 years as a forgotten barn find. Cash in on fame and glory.
You'll need to log in to post.
