Not quite city center. Columbus Blvd almost within sight of the Walt Whitman. They have a parking lot so traffic and commute is the bigger concern.
I know the area. Delaware Ave (the old name for Columbus Blvd) is not too bad, unless you are there when a game is on. Like you said, it is the getting there that is tough. As you are so close to the river, I am not sure if the subway extends that far
