From a seller's point of view, what FMV would you folks give a complete 1980 Rover 3500 V8 engine and 5-speed with unknown mileage, ran when parked, including wiring and computer? (I'm told it's been converted to Vitesse-spec FI.)
I looked at ebay, but nothing appeared close.

SBCs were roughly $1/cube in running condition. That's all I have.
Is that the all-aluminum 4.6L GM/Olds motor? Bosch L-Jetronic injection?
It might be worth something to guys looking for a small lightweight v8 swap for TR-6 or something to keep it in the british family.

It should be a descendant of the aluminum 215, but the bigger displacements made by Rover were iron.
Yeah, this one's the original aluminum knock-off of the Buick 215. It came out of an '80 SD1 that was rusting away.
PO (had the car for 20 years) said that pulling the smog equipment and adding the Vitesse pieces made a "very notice-able" improvement in power. (...from 133hp to ~200.)
When I started planning my Locost project way-back-when, I had a Toyota 20R slated for it. This V8 fell into my lap and I realized it was lighter than, and nearly triple the power of, the 20R. Now I need money more than a home-made sports car.
I guess I'll just make up a number and see what happens.
Thanks.
(edit 2-1/2 hours later: Just found out the bellhousing alone is supposedly worth ~$200.)

I'd call it $300-$400 for a running complete not super desirable engine.
