It is not 100% official yet since paperwork hasn't been signed, but you are now talking to the new Technical Director of Theatre Harrisburg.
Finally a job that pays me to do what I love.

Is this a job where you get paid to eat Cheetoos and watch porn all day?
Or, is that just me and my vision of the dream job?
Congrats if it is!
Awesome.
Did the "fire police" thing ever materialize ?
Edit: nevermind. Found it in that thread.
Congrats on the TD job. I don't know what that is, though. Care to elaborate?

Nice job! pun intended Also, never knew you were so geographically proximate to us. The wife and I might have to make a trip up to the theatre there some time. Will google it.
Nice! I did some of that in high school and even did some work at a professional theater during my senior year as the TD at a local theater was a graduate from my HS.
Unless it's changed in 25 years, a Technical Director is generally in charge of set construction at a theater.
Since Curtis didn't answer, I'll try to fill you in.
As the name implies, The Technical Director directs all things technical in a theatre - i.e. everything that doesn't involve performers, musicians, etc.
The TD oversees the following departments: Audio, Automation, Carpentry, Lighting/Electrics, Wardrobe, Properties (aka Props), Video/Projection, Pyrotechnics and Atmospherics, and Rigging.
In pre-production (i.e. before a show opens to the public) the TD makes sure everything is coming together in a timely manner, from the technical standpoint. Once a show opens, it is the job of the TD to make sure the technical aspects run properly.
Depending on the situation, the TD reports to either the Director, the Artistic Director, or the General Stage Manager.
That's the general answer - each situation is different. Curtis may fill you in on his particular position.
You'll need to log in to post.
