If that was a stock front end it probably would have resulted in a nice big dent in the bumper. Certainly a lot less damage then that.
Is this one of those 80s Pro Street cars that has a blower and big tires but isn't actually fast? It looks like one of those.
Well, apparently if you really want the car to be fast, you would not put a blower on it in the first place. It is loud, and I suspect that is mostly the point.
My photoschnapps skills are weak, otherwise the meme would be "Sorry Mr. Stang, the crowd's hiding behind a fence. Here, let me get that for you..."
I suppose now is a good time to reveal that there is a secret society dedicated to shutting down caffeine and gasoline type events across the country. They identify themselves as the Ponycar Order of Cars and Coffee Neutralization and Reduction.
Here's one of their ceremonial hats:

Some people think so. I don't.
Sucks for the car. That chainlink fence must be made out adamantium though, seems like an aweful lot of damage from some fencing, I can't imagine if he hit a concrete barrier on a dragstrip at speed in that thing.
That was nothing but a drag car w/ a license plate. Surprised there was no laundry hangin' out back.

He actually took out a fair amount of fencing and those posts are pretty sturdy...
That happened at a local-ish cars and coffee. Sucks to damage the car like that but I'm actually glad he only took out the fence on the central divider. I know that road - actually drove past there on Friday - and if my geographic memory is correct there's a residential area to the right.
<grumpy old man mode> I'm not sure the car community around here needed that sort of nationwide attention, it's small enough as it is for the local crowd..</grumpy old man mode>
Horsepower determines how fast you hit the chain link fence.
Torque is how much it takes to back out of it.
