First good rain I've seen in a year (Tucson area).
Got a good soaking on the east side of town yesterday and its been sprinkling for about 45 minutes today. Between yesterday and today I hope its enough to get us back on par this year.
I'm on the western end of the Tortolinos, a little micro pocket that gets a lot less than the rest of the valley. It was so nice to get a real rain. The smell of the desert after a rain is intoxicating.

Tortolino Mts.
Speaking of delicious, I was zipping around the other night and stopped at a little Mexican restaurant I'd never seen and asked the lady to surprise me and have the cook make me her favorite dish. Probably the best chimichanga I've ever had and I'm pretty critical. Everything made from scratch. Yuuummmmeeee. Think I'll go back tonight!
just got walloped here in (south) Scrotesdale.
I really need to move to the PNW - I love rain & despise the sun.
I heard the American southwest was drying up bigtime. Something about the groundwater level being crazy depleted. It better rain some more.
Angela's Mexican Food on Coachline just south of Twin Peaks near I10. I had an asada burrito tonight. It wasn't nearly as good as the Chimi but decent. You have so much more to choose from on the east side. It's very generic in the Oro Valley/ Marana area.
I just ran from Tucson to Phoenix on my motorcycle today, escaped the rain! Met up with a friend tonight and headed back to Illinois over the next few days tomorrow. Pretty glad I missed the rain but it is good there was rain.
We had a storm pass through dumped a bit over water for a bit the real nice bit for me was temp dropped from near 90 to 65 in less than an hour. Went back up to 80 later though.
