It's a VandenPlas Princess that's been parked behind the Millerton Inn for many years. It's in pretty good condition. But I don't want it. 🫤

It was at the Blackhawks store on Michigan Ave. I was in Chicago for RSNA in 2015, so I can't guarantee the mosaic is still there.
I had saved the picture from my google photos to show a coworker. Here a few others from the store
Went to dinner tonight at Bill's, our usual Saturday night venue, and was greeted with this scene. It turned out to be a minor incident (not food related), but it changed our plans for the evening.
Alright, I get the usual "kill it with fire" things but have you ever watched one of these guys in action? Freaking amazing. This one has been maintaining a web between a couple of the dock posts for the past three weeks.
We've been watching while enjoying a cocktail (or two). Guy has to make a living!

I call them "wall friends" Live and let live.
I had a giant spider, like almost mouse sized, living under my toolbox for a while. I called her Debbie, short for Debbie Hairy. As long as they are smart/nonaggressive enough to run away from people, they're cool.
If they run TOWARDS me they get stomped.

We have big wolf spiders (I think that's what they are) that we call dock spiders that hang out under / around the dock posts. Some of them get pretty big, like a 3 inch wing span and a bluish furry body about the size of a quarter. They typically head the other way as you approach, the kids used to name them. They are all tolerated outside of the house as they live here, we just visit.
