Especially when someone that's still alive and had been living in the same house since 1960.
So far I'm up to at least 100 different coffee mugs, multiple UK items, on top of all the normal furniture and china...
Sigh. If I hadn't already made a few trips, I'd easily have filled 2-26' box trucks.

I've already decided we're buying a new house with all new stuff and burning this one down.
In reply to Duke :
That's the end result of this place. It's not fit to fix or live in. So it's keep or burn are the only options and not everything can come to the new house.

Yea. We're taking a change of clothes and the pictures and lighting the rest on fire.
When I moved into the current place from my apartment, I finally paid someone to move the stuff. I packed up everything in my apartment, then paid some guys to move everything inside the new house into the room which it belonged.
The next time I move, the exact same thing will happen. Although I may even pay someone to do the packing.
Our family of six moved four months ago. Moved two houses into one--four 26' truckloads. Cost way more than we planned for and took an enormous toll on our bodies and our mental health. Moving sucks.
My great aunt and grandmother had full houses in Chicago to clear out so my parents said we'll start early and make it easy on the kids. They did and it was still a major burden. Living in one house from 1970-2015 with six kids fills up.
It was hard giving away some of the stuff as there was a lot nobody wanted.

I recently moved and it took about every weekend for a month to pack and move truckloads of stuff to the new place. The only thing I asked for help with was moving one piece of furniture, and my dad came up with his truck to do that.
Then I found out a guy at work has an old box truck and would've packed and moved me in a day and quoted 400 bucks for his trouble.
I definitely would've taken him up on that if I'd known earlier.
I'm pretty sure my marriage would not survive another move.
When I moved into my current house It took one enclosed trailer and my toterhome. Done in one day. Moving everything from my old shop to the new place took 26 trips with my toter one month and still scrapped abutt 10,00 lbs. Moving sucks!
