To the Limit: An Air Cav Huey Pilot in Vietnam by Tom Johnson is one of my favorite books. Crazy helicopter stories and well written.

It really is a good book? I'll have to try it then.

I've learned to stay away from what the huddled masses tell me is a "good book"

These are usually the same adults who puff out their chests and are proud that they made it all the way through a childrens novel (Harry Potter)

The first 100 pages were pretty tough to get through.. but it was good... Above Mental Taffy and below Hemingway.

Don't recall specifically asking about a car book. . . already knew that ZAMM was more about the romantic philosophy of science, centered around a father and sons journey on a CB77. Also, aready knew the back story on Art of Racing in the Rain being about a dogs observations on the human condition.

gasp Stalker!!

just kidding. .

Already got the Rock Auto CD ROM for the '63. Still didn't tell me all the junk I'm missing behind the steering wheel to prevent the horn from working that Dearborn Classics isn't re-popping. Thinking of selling. . . tired of people telling me to make it a Thunderbolt clone (even though it's the wrong year. . . I have tailfins dammit!). I see influences of a MB 300 SE Coupé and have been following the Classic Motorsports MB 230 S project as an influence and maybe with a little mix of the AMG "Red Pig" (bumper delete, fog lights), Holman Moody 'Ringburner, with a slight hint of NASCAR (wider steelies, longer bolt studs). Keep the 260 (I got triple digits on the rebuild) and dress it up as an XP-260 just to see who does a doubletake. They'd be the ones "in the know".

And as for the SX4. . . That's not a plain SX4! It's actually a 2010 Suzuki SX4. . . Sportback. . . GTS. . . 6-speed. . . oh, screw it. I'm tired of trying to defend my DD. I love the damn little rollerskate/go-kart, it sat nice performance wise between a plain Cooper and an S and had 4 doors. Shoulda just got the Cooper so I didn't have to explain it wasn't the cheap AWD E36 M3 box.

Anyway, where were we. . . oh, books.

All three of the books (Dragon Tattoo, Played With Fire, Hornet's Nest) are excellent IMHO. I don't typically like watching a movie after reading the book, but the Daniel Craig version of GWDT is very well done, follows the book closely.

I haven't read that one yet. Don't tell me how it ends...

(Just kidding, I've read it. It's got some great stories in it that some people take WAY too literally.)
