Not sure if anyone wants to see these but my friend asked me to make this car for him
Difficult since this casting has never been done exactly Like this. He provided me with one from his collection to practice on...
First up is to de-spoiler it, it has a casting void under the spoiler so I was careful to not take to much.
I also removed the casting lines which are a bit of an eyesore on this particular car. After I had it where I thought I could make it work I split the base
And slapped some panasport style wheels under it.
Casting sits a bit wonky so I gave it a altitude adjustment
More to follow.
I had to take a lot off so I ended up restructuring the whole rear of the casting trying To stay out of the taillight area and the grill. Lots Of work here.
I then stripped the paint, it's been there for 30 years and didn't Want to come off but with some persistence it mostly moved on.
In the above pic you can see where I started to get into the casting void, I will spot putty that and the flares where the metal was a little thin. This brings us to whère we are now. I painted it to see how it presents itself under paint and found some spots that need cleaned up. It will be a pretty good base for a "277" replica though.

I love Magnus Walker's cars, they are awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product.
In reply to Appleseed:
And I am totally stealing that as well!
Also, I came across another couple zamac fr-s cars. Do you guys do much trading? I'm open to it for anything I have dupes of.

You and me both, Junior.
Otherwise, Michael's have 50% their collector cases this week.
Hit a rural Walmart on Monday that had a box of the new mystery cars, which includes a TR6.

I sorta liked it as a beater bomb with those wheels. Methinks some chrome real riders under there and leaving it alone woulda been awesome. Not the goal, but awesome.
Wasn't sure of the coloring on my other E30 M3, so I picked up a few more. Plus the red FRS looks a lot better to me.
In reply to 1kris06:
The white E30 M3 was exclusive to KMart this past spring. Nice find. That same case also had an exclusive blue Datsun 620 pickup.

Red e36, white e30, white "FD"

And another casting error. Found a few of these lately.
This morning at Stop and Shop I picked up a Datsun 620, Seagraves Fire Truck, and yesterday at work I got a new bus.
Walmart has zamac 69 Skylines Twinmill, 2010 Mustangs, 67 Mustangs, and the Mooneyes custom bug. Between me and a buddy, we have over 175 of them in total.
Also found a paint error on a blue Pop a Wheelie. The front wheel is half black and half gold.
In reply to chandlerGTi:
I have a similar error on a loose white Falcon V8 supercar- only one wheel is different. Wish I had spotted it before I opened it and gave it to my kid- it was pulling teeth getting it back.
Finally found a 510 wagon and a Mustang Mach 1 with no spoiler. Couldn't pass up the two cartoon series Batmobiles.
