I picked these up loose at a local Savers thrift store. That's the Javelin I was asking about restoring.
Love the hitail hauler! That's the 1979 release due to the yellow bikes. It was a redline in orange only.
I'll dig my redlines out and take pics at some point.
Need more info on the redline cougar, Hong Kong or us base? Is the grill divided by a body color vertical line? Interior color?
Very hard to find color, us base is tough too. Redlines are all about condition and I sold the same set up six years ago in very good condition for 450. Yours is not in good shape but It is a great piece for a collection!
In a weird way, I like them played with. Then I don't feel bad for touching them. For giggles, what would you guess the worth is on the Cougar?
Cool gift, nonetheless.
And thanks for the history lessons. Neat to know my truck is as old as me.
It would depend, antique store might ask $80 and sell to someone who had one as a kid. At a hot wheels show they may ask $80 and take 40-60. At a show you will find guys trying to complete rainbows( basically every color that a casting was available in), since this is pricey they buy "fillers" to get the rainbow then continue trying to find nicer and nicer versions of each color and reselling the fillers.
Interesting?
Bought a sweet 1st gen red RX7 with flares for the 2 year old tonight as he is feeling ill. It cheered him and daddy up.

If its not too much trouble.
There was a Homer at Walmart this morning. I grabbed it incase anyone is still looking.
If anyone sees a BJ & The Bear Kenworth I need one.
Found the christmas carded HW at walmart today. Got 2 extra golfs and a civic and tundra if anyone is interested.
My oddity for the week was a Bread Box in Jamaicanish colors.
I also corrupted some youths on how to tell what was in the mystery packs. LoL
Number in the checklist in the back of the pack corresponds to the number inked on.
There are some cool ones every so often but I don't really collect loose so it's no big deal. I did snag ten of the rx7 a couple years ago.
I still need that white fb. I have an abundance of the Jamaican breadvan if people need one. Also, this happened today- I went to art by me because they always seem to have an abundance of old stock, and I was hoping for red e30s. Strangely, they had mostly current a-case stuff. They had the usual wall, a 4 top rounder, and a new Xmas display of stocking stuffers, highlighted by said hot wheels. While perusing the stuffer wall, I noticed that some employee had a bit of ocd, because there was a good 3 cases on that wall, and they were all organized by car. Peg of 620s, peg of e36s, you get the idea. I had about given up on it, when I noticed the glint of chrome out of the corner of my eye. I bent down to look, expecting tombs up or something, but it was a t-hunt chicane. And I thought to myself "there's no way....." But sure as E36 M3, I hit an entire peg of t-hunt chicanes. My wife gave me a dirty look when I grabbed them all. She was slightly less mad when they were 79¢. So, I have a few extra.
