Finds like these make me happy to be a Picker.  I was going to flip it, but I'm letting a friend have it for what it cost me. (It was mre than the $29.95 listed on the box)

1968 Dodge "Scat Pack" race set by Eldon.

And he is a great friend, and a fellow MoPar nut.

It's a sickness.

It all started with an old dining room table, then got out of control from there.  The base is 2x4's with a luan top. It's wrapped in green vinyl.

The track is a collection of a few Lifelike sets.  It's pinned into place.

I cut the little tab off the powerpack connector so I can put it in backwards.  Switch the plug, now the track goes the other way.  It's like a whole new track.

If you stay away from vintage cars and sets, and buy quality new, your 2 and 4 year old should do fine.  I wish my Uncle Brian would have rigged a throttle stop on my Tyco stock car set I got when I was 6. My Motorcraft Thunderbird spent more time airborne than on the track.
