Does anyone know how to do this?

My son was tinkering with mine and opened a screw that was near the handle and fluid spurted out. Now my jack won't go up but about half of what it would before.

I'm sure there has to be a way to refill it, but it's not obvious to me and I don't want to make matters worse by experimenting.

Also what would I refil it with?

Their is usually a rubber plug on the side of the cylinder where you add fluid. Search the interweb for bleeding information.

Edit-hydraulic jack oil/fluid.

You may have to bleed it, too.

So the plug is on the cylinder itself and not on the base? I'll go look today. All I've seen are 2 screws on the base right next to where the handle pivots.

Oh, yes...

Turn the handle like you're letting it down. Pull UP on the saddle a few times. Check the fluid level. Turn the handle like you're raisng it , then put a test load on it and see if it raises normally.

You'll need to log in to post.
