I would like to rent a MX-5 for a day maybe a weekend for my birthday. ND chassis. I would prefer the RF but either would work.
How do I go about doing this?
Turo doesn't seem to have any that I can find. Most rental places only have vanilla type cars.
How can I fulfill this dream!? Anyone here in the Cleveland Ohio area want to loan me one? I can pay. I don't want to abuse it just cruise and enjoy it.

I think I've seen both national and enterprise offer ND as one if their premium options. Try calling the biggest airport location nearby.

Keep checking Turo - no Miatas here but other cool cars. Yesterday the Civic Si wasn't available.

Go to a couple of local autocross events and befriend the Miata drivers. There will be a few.
And to just cruise around in, the NC is just as comfy and quick as an ND. I find the infotainment interface in the ND to be truly awful. Like, no excuse for it being this bad, awful.
Add me to the list recommending rental car places (usually airport has the best selection), I have rented ND Miatas twice through National. No clutch pedal, but otherwise gets the job done nicely.
I was hoping to specifically drive the ND. I owned an NA and a NC already. The next Gen was the dream car for me.
I played around a lot with different car rentals online sites but they are vague as to what they can get you. I'm going to try calling to get more clear answers and maybe extra help.
Still striking out on Turo
You're welcome to come drive mine, but I'm over in CT... Lots of pretty New England country to cruise in though...
Turo will only show you cars that are available on the days you've selected. I hate that because maybe your dates are flexible! Anyway I did find this Miata in your area but it's not showing as available until next March. Maybe you could message the owner and see if they could make it available for you?

I'll talk to them and see if I can make something happen.
I was annoyed that you can't look up a rental based on the car and then set dates after you pick your car. Any work around to that or just keep changing dates?
CarMax has a bunch of RFs, none in your area but several close by. Pay the $200 shipping fee, request a 24hr test drive, then tell them you don't want it at the end. Probably not that much more than a turo rental once all the fees and taxes are added in.
