Oh, in reference to this thread:

As I glance at this thread I realize many people don't understand that "AI" or neural networks are nothing like what we see in movies or TV.

This primer will get you a better understanding of these networks.

Skip the math. Look at the pictures. Get the basis. Skim the first 2 chapters.

Was going to post this very article. The Human Driving Association's goals sound quite reasonable for now. But at some point a few decades from now, autonomous driving could be far safer than "manual" driving, and preserving the option at that point would amount to pointlessly sacrificing lives over a hobby, behavior I'd want no part of. At some point we should be willing to give up human-driven cars on the street for the safety, efficiency, and speed advantages. The dogmatic, purely ideological approach of "from my cold dead hands" would turn driving enthusiasts into the bad guys in the medium/long term.

At some point it would be better to shift to a right-to-repair/modify and libre software movement approach to autonomous cars. This would avert the more dystopian possibilities.

This won’t really even hit the thoughts of politicians until more than at least 10% of the auto population is made up of autonomous vehicles.

For that to become a reality the nation will need to have complete 5 G coverage, which we won’t achieve for another 7-9 years.

Then what will happen is the so -called Sane lanes will be reserved for autonomous cars because they will be capable of safe driving at a much faster speed.

Self driving cars will be kept out of the M.O.V. LANES and commute times will tumble. That is what will dramatically increase autonomous cars. Not any regulation   Tickets will be issued to self driving cars in that lane. Until traffic congestion  demands more and more of the road width.

A process like that will take many decades  to occur and still horses and self driving cars will travel rural roads.

How does he find old threads all the time? Is he searching for them? Or does he purposefully go back 10 pages in the forum?

Interesting that the same subject came up again under a different tittle.
