Sorry, man. Sounds like he would have been a great guy to hang out with.
EDIT: no displacement but I just bounced the 'yota off the rev limiter

That does rule.
Since I have to remove the cat back from the mustang this weekend anyway. In his honor I will make sure to "test" the exhaust flow at all RPMs prior to reinstalling things.
Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your and your wife's loss. Sounds like a rad guy. And absolutely, the quick exit beats the hell out of cancer treatment.
Condolences on your loss. As others have said, when it's my time I hope to go as quickly. I shall sacrifice some tread off the snows in his honor tomorrow.
Nothing I drive runs except for 1.6L Miata. It won't do him justice, but I'll be sure to find out how long it will spin one of the wheels.
He sounds like great man to have head in your life. I'm sorry you, your wife and your family couldn't have more time with him. I'm glad you have the memories you do and I'm glad he passed peacefully rather than withering away. My prayers are with you.
Damn, JG..sorry to hear that. I wonder how much that guy would have wound me up about my "wrong wheel drive" if I'd ever been lucky enough to meet him.
I only voted up the post because the pix were so cool. Too wet in Atlanta Metro area to lay down some rubber for the man tonight..but "tomorrow is another day"..
Been scanning a ton of old photos tonight and I thought you guys would get a kick out of this one.
Allegedly my wife was conceived in that car, which I think makes my mother in law a bonafide superfreak.

LOL. Dude was a BOSS.
Sorry for your loss. He sure sounds like one of us.
Sorry to hear . R.I.P Butch.
I shall give the turbo on the Saab a nice workout on my drive home this evening .
Sorry for your loss. I recently had a a good family friend pass from cancer in about the same time span. Nasty stuff.
He sounds like a very interesting guy to have in your life. Too young to go. Quick is good. My FIL passed about the same way, but still painful for all. I have had cancer scares, had a kidney removed and many skin cancers as well. Do not want to go through chemo. Wish I would have had a chance to meet him. +2 on a few extra hugs for the wife. She will be hurting bad for a while. Conceived in a TR3? Wow.
Butch was a hero. He loved loud noises, blowing stuff up, cold beer and good friends.
Great, funny, fantastic human being.
Sorry for your loss. He sounds like a great guy to have known.
Since the Vette is already put away for winter and we are getting snow today I will pull an e-brake donut in the uncorked Focus on my way home. Just for you, Butch.
I put two ruts in the dirt in his honor as I pulled out the Forester XT to run an errand.
Sorry for your loss, my condolences to you and your family.
Butch used to show up at GRM headquarters from time to time with a huge crockpot full of his simply excellent Chili. On those days, we'd run out and grab some bread, and the whole staff would gather in the conference room and get fat and happy eating chili.
Occasionally, the lid for the pot would be a Studebaker hubcap that had a note saying something to the effect of this being chili, and if you want red bean soup you need to go elsewhere.
I'll miss him giving me crap about the tiny engine in my Type R, too. RIP Butch!
