Such an icon. Always seemed like he was just a regular guy, too. RIP

I just learned his first film role was in Dr. Strangelove.  I did not know that!

The man accomplished much in his life.

A very sad but hearty Go BLUE for the Legend. If you didn't know, he went to Michigan, and is the voice of the FB game hype video prior to games.

He will live forever as Darth Vader, but can't forget his role in Field of Dreams.

One of my favorite movies, and James Earl Jones' depiction of the character Terence Mann was definitely part of what makes it great.

His guest shot on Big Bang Theory was wonderful.  Even if you didn't like the show, that one is well worth watching.  Cameo from another Star Wars icon at the end, as well.

Dang. You know no one lives forever, but it still comes as a shock.

Sharing one of his lesser-known roles from earlier in his career, Lt. Lothar Zogg in Dr. Strangelove:

The guy was in EVERYTHING. He really was in a lot of my favorite movies. And as much as I enjoyed him in all of them, I think my favorite was his portrayal of Thulsa Doom in Conan the Barbarian.

The only two villains he played to my knowledge were this guy and Vader (the voice), but he was particularly evil here. He just absolutely killed it, and made you hate him. No matter what he was in, he elevated the entire thing to another level. He was a legend, and will be sorely missed.

Alot of people don't know he voiced Mufasa in the Lion King, but  as a small child, his voice in that movie made everything so much better. One qoute has alwasy stuck with me to look ahead and never give up. " You are more than what you have become." Rest in Peace James Earl Jones.

Naturally I only knew "him" from the people he pretended to be and the words that other people paid him to say, but I have a soft spot for Admiral Greer and it's sad to hear of his passing. The guy had a cool voice and acted very well

His role as Admiral Greer in Hunt for Red October was seminal.  Believe it or not, to have a black man portray such a senior military role at that time was pretty edgy for Hollywood. His performance was so good, I bet you never even questioned it.

I try to work that in whenever I can, especially when I'm breaking the rules.
