Sid Watkins, a man to whom racing owes a great deal has passed. His efforts were primarily in F1, but everyone who straps-on a helmet before getting in a car to compete should offer a heartfelt "Thanks, Sid.".

Many thanks indeed. I understand he contributed a lot to modern ideas of safety in racing.
Sad day for race fans. Truly responsible for so many safety improvements.
Man, that blows. I bought his book a while ago, it's just moved to the top of my to be read pile.
