Past few orders have been screwed up, every single time. Not only do they get it wrong, but they get real snarky and smart mouthed about it.

Their online inventory has gotten smaller and screwier, making it harder to figure out if they've got parts that actually fit, or not.

Mea, it's their choice, but I know two customers they've lost so far recently, and a few others who are less than happy with them.

I've had great luck with them. One time they did screw up an order, but they let me keep the wrong parts as well as issuing me a full refund.

Thats sad to hear. I've had nothing but good time with Rockauto.

But as with everything, your mileage may vary.

Good for me. I like these guys.

I ordered a t-stat for my Trailblazer and was convinced it was wrong. After arguing the dude credited me with an attitude. Come to find out I was the knucklehead.

i got an oem motorcraft wheel speed sensor $10 less than the local advance/zone/pepboys aftermarket sensors, which they didnt even have on the shelves. it was on my doorstep the next day after ordering/

scored a distributor for the MPV for $135, marked down from $300 on a wholesaler closeout deal. NEW, not rebuilt. shipped to me in 3 days and saved me a lot of money.

and that was just last week. I too seem to be amassing quite the collection of rockauto magnets.

I havent had any problems with them yet but you gotta watch out for the shipping charge especially if you order a lot of parts and theyre shipping from different locations.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them today, so I guess we'll see. The only problem I've ever had with them was an oil pan gasket that was packaged wrong. It had the correct sticker on the package, but the gasket inside was TOTALLY wrong. They refunded my money and let me keep it though.

The only time I've ordered from RA is because I coul NOT find a clutch master-to-slave hose, even from a dealer (they'd be happy to sell me a clutch master with the hose attatched, though, for $244).

on six orders from RA, they're a true 50/50. with discount codes, advanceautoparts.com has been cheaper by a mile on every order, and i've had 100% success in getting the correct parts and getting them quickly. the store pickup option is great when it's an in-stock part, and the online discount codes can still be used on store pickup orders. i got $400 in brake parts for bro-in-law's minivan for $280 and picked them up 45 minutes after placing the order.

Had one problem. Ordered a tail light assy for my truck, Mazda B-3000. Just asked for a Ranger unit 'cause they're the same, right? Nope. Same physical size and all, but the red, amber are in different places. Bastids. Used it anyway.

I had one issue where the grease in a brake pad kit leaked all over the pad. They sent a second set without any hesitation.

I've ordered a lot from them and am still a very happy customer. Their catalog isn't always the easiest to find what part fits, so I often have to cross-reference against other sources.

I've order from them several times. No problems so far. I have gotten some some stuff that was crap from them. As long as you stick with name brand stuff it seems to be pretty good. It's a lot easier for me to dig through the computer and order it myself than to have the idiot at Advance do it.

I recently ordered a muffler hanger for the E36 from them when I got it the prat number on the box was correct but the part was obviously the wrong thing and looked nothing like the picture on the site which looked exactly like what was on the car.

I contacted them about the problem which they immediately sent another one, again right part number wrong part, I finally gave up and ordered it on e-bay.

I explained in the original e-mail that the part in the box did not match the picture on the website which matched what was on my car, but apparently they didn't hear that because they never took the time to look at the second one they sent out and see that it was wrong too. So customer service tried to make me happy but in the end they failed, we both lost money and time.

I think that varies with the vehicle. Advanced is a good place to get parts for a five year old corolla....transmission mounts for a 1982 datsun, though, are a different story. For that stuff, I go to Rock Auto

Had the same problem with Scummit.... Got my order and the one fitting I needed was instead a set of -6 tube sleeves. Call them up, they ship me tube sleeves AGAIN. Third time around, finally got the right part. In the box I received was a note related to a total quarantine of those parts..... Too bad, I have YET to use ANY of those tube sleeves, 10 yrs later.......

Only time I had any problem with Rockauto was when a manufactures database had part numbers switched on the front caliper of my Impreza. If you order front calipers as a pair no problem, but if you just need one oops wrong side. Took three tries for me to get the correct side. Their customer service was excellent though. Finally figured out how the screw up occurred a few months later when I went to the really good independent local parts store for the other caliper, wrong side again. I'm thinking one day I can maybe have enough of their magnets to make car numbers out of for a day of dodging cones.
