I'd agree that Rogue One is a bad introduction movie. I've seen the original trilogy and FA within the last year (and FA twice). I still kind of need to go back and watch Rogue One again to figure it out.

Yeah I agree with you, not a good movie to start on. I'd think it should be tacked onto the end though (if added to the viewing order at all), because it's not really relevant to what's about to happen in 6 unlike 3 is.

If I was watching the series now, having seen all the movies (except the prequels, kinda want to change that) then I would be watching Rogue One, Star Wars, Empire, Jedi, FA.

I took my two boys, 8 and 13, to see it yesterday. ESB has been my favorite so far but I think I like this one better. Sure there are dumb things but the movie just "felt" right.

I loved it. I won't go into greater detail because there is just too much to talk about. The Kevin smith review was 94 minutes to do it justice.

Speaking of Vader, we were just reminded of why he's so feared.

It's that distant relative of VHS that did things better but simply refuses to completely step down and fully pass on the family business to its offspring Blu-ray, who does everything with much better results...

Because my TV wouldn't display any better quality if playing a Blu-ray, and my XBox 360 doesn't play them.

Going from VHS to DVD was a game changer. Going from DVD to Blu-ray is incrementally better.

yes, between his interactions with Director Krennic and then boarding the Alliance Ship, he is one bad ass

Agreed. I hope that we can all agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-Ray; thankfully the next thing appears to be streaming/downloads, so I won't actually have to worry about that.

I dunno, after having had a blu-ray player for a couple of years, I find it really hard to watch my old movies that are "only" DVD.

Because you're used to BluRay. Compare it to a VHS tape.

BluRay quality is also very dependent on how it is mastered. Crap in, crap out. I think a lot of early BluRays where just re-mastered DVD's.

Agreed. I want more. I wonder if we'll get another glimpse Vader in his prime in the Han Solo movie?

Compared to a new, quality VHS tape being played on a machine in good condition and properly adjusted, the jumps are about equal.

Being analog tape, VHS suffers from progressive degradation every time you play it, whereas both blu-ray and DVD will look the same until you scratch it badly and suddenly it's useless. Also, VHS machines need calibration and "tuning up" to perform at their best, whereas that's pretty much irrelevant to optical transport.

I thought that the ending did a pretty good job of setting up the beginning of episode 4.. It made Vader's attitude while dealing with Leia make sense..

Of course, i can't wait to see what the Auralnauts do with it..

Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The ending makes sense for the beginning of 4 and how Vader says their diplomatic mission is horseE36 M3. You know, since they just hauled ass away from a huge battle with the empire.

Could make for a good drinking game.

Watched it last night. Loved it. Like others have said, I wouldn't recommend to normal (non Star Wars nerds) movie goers

I actually saw that the other way. Why did Leah even bother to claim they were on a diplomatic mission?
