So, looks like the U.S. and others have noted to kick Russia out of the G8. Without getting into geopolitics and stuff, are we still going to be like, Um, hey, Russia, can we still bum a ride to the International Space Station?

boom. Now let's get a man (or woman) on Mars.
Now the more realistic situation is that we end up cutting NASA even more gearing up for cold war 2.0.

Nah. Everybody knows the way to beat Russia is to rain down fiery fury from outer space.

I'm more surprised that they can't kick Russia off the UN security council......
Am I the only one who sees a parallel of what's going on in Russia and what Hitler did to the Sudatenland back in the late 1930's?
I'd love to see the Facebook status updates and tweets from the dudes on the ISS right now.
"Oleg is hogging the window again."
The Dragon capsule has already been tested and is close to being crew certified. I am sure it could be used in an emergency:
It has some impressive carrying capacity also:

and I assume then... that Obama = Chamberlain?
Personally... based on Putins actions... I'd recommend, AND back up Japans annexation of Kuril Islands.... Lets see how the berkeling SOB likes to support a 2 front "situation"
The worst thing about all of this is that sometime, somewhere, some government will think its a good idea to start expanding again. This is the most peaceful era in practically all of history since WW2. I personally will not be surprised if WW3 happens before I die.
What exactly IS to stop a country like Russia (or China?) from just going and taking land they want? Everybody has basically given them the go ahead, as individual nations that pale in size to either of those two won't be able to put up a fight. Plus if they just proxy war everything (but not really), what do you do? Just go around and scoop up any land you want as long as there is a sizeable chunk of your former "nationality" there.

I've been saying that for a bit now, exact same thing happened before......berkeleying history, its almost as regular occurring as that damned loch ness monster always asking for treefiddy.

Personally, I think we could probably annex Canada while everybody is distracted by this Crimea crap, if the queen gets mad we can guilt trip her about WW2.
I'm only kinda joking.

Nope. I have been thinking that for a while.
The only thing that Putin isn't saying is that Russia needs "living space", otherwise scary how similar.

Seems like they've seen this picture before.
I think one of the important variables here (and realistically pretty different from 1938) is the Russian populace. I don't pretend to say that they have a huge voice in what their government does, but at some point not having the populace behind you becomes an issue.
From what I hear, the Russian people are very untrustworthy of their government (as they certainly should be) and are likely not to believe too much of the propaganda. Not sure at what point they would become an issue though.
If they start annexing land, they are also going to acquire some pissed off locals that don't want them there.

Nah, way I figure it, 3-4 days tops, you'll probably apologize about the whole mess while signing the surrender treaty.

Didn't work so well for you Yanks last time. Thomas Jefferson's remarked that the capture of Canada was "a mere matter of marching". At one point we ended up with Michigan, got all the way to Washington and set fire to the White House. While we would rather be drinking Molsons and playing hockey, we can get pretty scrappy when pi$$ed off. LOL
