That's my guess, too

"As I was about to make the sharp left turn, a motorcycle came around from the other direction. He failed to negotiate the turn and slammed right into my front left bumper, fender and headlight area. The airbags deployed as the biker went flying over my head. Convertible top was down. Both of us were fine although the biker may have a wrist or forearm injury-could be broken. He was able to use it with some pain."
"Speaking of the edge. My right tire was right on the edge of a serious dropoff. It was a freaking cliff with trees growing out of it. Trees would have prevented me from going very far though. The biker was definitely at fault and he kept apologizing for destroying my Vette. I told him "Don't worry about that. You were on a motorcycle that had a major collision with a 3100 pound car and you're able to stand here talking to me and I'm perfectly fine thanks to the seat belt and air bags which worked perfectly". I'm pretty sure the brake unit was demolished and I know the left front wheel steering and suspension parts were in pieces. It's messed up pretty good."
Looks like the biker just got scared and stood it up.....or maybe he just likes vettes and wanted a closer look.

Not by much--- IRRC about 3200 lbs, maybe 3300.
In reply to Joe Gearin:
Wow, you're right! I was thinking in the 3500-3600 range, but goggles shows 3250-3300 depending on year and options.
Someone needs to have "Save a life, be aware, corvettes are everywhere!!!" bumper stickers made and sent to this guy.....
I would if I had more spare money at the moment.

Just email the rider with links to the pic source and the nearest MSF school.
It's cheaper.
The low ground clearance suggests that the rider was attempting to brake while negotiating the turn. Target fixation, and the rest is history.
Physics isn't my thing, but damn, how fast was that bike going to move that Corvette that far?! That Vette has to be what, 4 times the weight of even a big bike like that one...
The guy in the 'Vette stayed straight instead of making the turn, obviously trying to miss the bike.
What kind of bike is that, anyway? Doesn't look like any of the metric cruisers, I almost think it's a Triumph...
EDIT: Yep, a Triumph Thunderbird.
"Golly, I've always wanted a bike. Now that I'm retired, I think I'll go cruising, but I don't need to learn to ride on the edge, because I'll never be in a situation where I'll need to."
Second largest group of motorcyclists killed, barely edged out by squids on sportbikes.

[/Jackass Squid Mentality] I don't need to go to a rider's course, that is for Bob Costas! [/Jackass Squid Mentality]

If you look through the sequence of photos the Corvette was trying to avoid him, that's why he went off the road.

My FRC was within about 20lbs of my Mazdaspeed3. 3100 even with half a tank or so.

I am an idiot for not having printed my bright orange "Think twice. Save your neck. Don't ride like an assh0le." stickers.
I live in north georgia. I see a lot more "Hey I've got a bike! Drive around me!" aholes than drivers who don't respect guys on bikes.
