Apparently some ships are saying screw it and bypassing trying to get through the Suez and rerouting towards going around the Horn of Africa.

looks like they have it moved some and may have it out of the way soon ,
But then they need to inspect it and see that it has not been damaged .
Hopefully the other ships can get past it ....

Those captains are going to be mad if they do get the boat cleared soon...I know if I ever change waiting lines at the grocery store, the one I left will immediately speed up and the one I go to will come to a screeching halt.

That, my friend, is the perfect analogy!

Frankly, who cares? They should scuttle the damn thing for payback.
Well I see they've given the Suez some Exlax. There go some of the finest and most expensive memes in memory. There might be a few more though... imagine being captain of one of the rerouted ships, that's juuuuuuuuust about at the Horn right now..

OK....I will bite , Payback from whom ?
Well the ship's free now. So it appears that they knew that strong winds would cause the ship to be blown uncontrollably into the side of the canal, but they were just watching the weather and taking a calculated risk, and this time they gambled and lost. Maybe in the future we'll see some ships guided by tug-trains on the sides like in the Panama canal to keep this from happening again?
I read a Forbes article about the ship being freed and found this paragraph interesting...
Evergreen Marine belongs to the Evergreen Group, a Taiwanese shipping-to-aviation conglomerate that was founded by the late billionaire Chang Yung-fa. Chang, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 88, had worked in shipping since age 14 and got a key break when his neighbor and first mate on a freight liner let him work on the ship. He eventually became a captain himself. The company started with one ship in 1968. Today Evergreen has more than 160 vessels and calls at 240 ports.
I knew Evergreen is very big but the backstory is interesting.
I would be okay being the captain of a rerouted ship approaching the horn, because officials have several days of missed canal appointments to reschedule. Ever been in an OB/Gyn waiting room right after the doc was out for an unexpected delivery? Exactly. All those boats waiting at either end aren't just gonna waltz through today, and the ones with today appointments are still gonna find themselves sitting around reading People magazine.

Make sure to check the "Boat Is To Scale" box.
In reply to Marjorie Suddard :
If they had any class they'd be reading Grassroots Motorsports like the rest of us dorks
Currently cruising at 9.9 knots, about to be met by the largest sock party in history. First up is another EverGreen ship, the Excel.
