Yup! Pretty standard contract for management level here, actually.

That is interesting. Yes there is a general rule that 2 weeks notice is professional but I don't think it is typically in the employment contract. I had one job that did have a clause like that and it was 1 month (that was a director level job). I gave them my 1 month notice and they walked me out about an hour later (they did pay the month). I know they are typically a little more civil in Europe (I think that is where you are) but even there I have never seen anyone enforce that.

Just to let all of you gents who provided advice and encouragement know that this ended happily. I have resigned and was offered a very nice settlement/agreement. Apparently, senior members of the organization has appreciated my work.

Last working day is Nov 31st, but I will be on vacation for the last 2 weeks.  I'm not allowed to tell exactly what the settlement is, but... I'm very (!!) happy with it.

Starting my new job Dec 5.

You resigned but they're giving you a settlement. This is fascinating.

In my profession (in USA) if you quit you get paid for accrued vacation time and that's all. No settlement or severance. Sounds great to depart and get a bonus.
