Some folks are artists with food and other can only finger paint. Normally my goal is to fill the void and move on to other activities. Over the years I have perfected the effortless meal that is reasonably healthy and fills the void nicely.

For this project the only special tools needed is an electric rice steamer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • some water
  • Handful of frozen vegetables
  • Handful of pre-cooked frozen chicken strips.
  • Little bit of butter.
  • Other stuff you may like.

I buy in bulk so this stuff works out to be about $1.75 in materials.

Load the materials into the machine and push the start button.

The wait time is about 15 to 20 min. so...

Go into the garage and remove the carburetor from your project car.

bon appetit!

2 minute pasta.. Nuke ramen noodles (or Mr Noodles) according to the instructions. When done put some pasta sauce on top. If you want to get really adventurous put some shredded cheese on top and let melt into noodles before putting pasta sauce on top.

4 minute pizza...

4 minutes is a bit of a misnomer.. On a day off work, take 20 minutes to prep. Shred cheese, chop up veg or fruit toppings,or cook (uncooked) meat toppings..

Anyway.. Take a tortilla wrap, put pasta sauce on it (Pizza sauce costs more and to me is the same E36 M3, just you get less of it and it costs more). Put cheese on top. Add toppings. Put tortilla wrap on frying pan, no oil required. Turn frying pan on low-med (depends on your stove). Once cheese on top fully melts, you have the best thin crust pizza you have ever eaten..

When I said 4 minutes above. It takes 4 minutes to take the prepped ingredients from the fridge, assemble it, and cook it in total.. While one is cooking. Assemble another, as soon as one is done put the other one in the pan. Also before assembling the first one turn the stove on and preheat the frying pan.

Legitimate Alfredo.

I learned something a while back. Chef something Alfredo invented the dish for his wife who was pregnant and having a hard time keeping it down. Its literally 3 ingredients. Cheese butter and noodles. What you need-

2tbsp butter. 1 cup shredded parmagiano reggiano. Use the real.stuff or you're a bad person.
1 half lb fettucine cooked aldente.

Cook noodles, set aside. Do not drain. In saute pan melt butter. Add noodles. Dont worry about a little water from the noodles getting In it- helps the whole process. Over low heat combine noodles and butter. Slowly add cheese, making sure it completely melts and combines. Eat. I tend to add a couple chicken boobs cooked beforehand, but this is by no means required. Throw a little course ground sea salt ( or Himalayan rock salt....) And some fresh crushed pepper and you have a nice quick meal. Add whatever you want for basic ingredients. Tomato's broccoli florets whatever.
