So there are a few big bucket-list otype trips that I really want to take: Driving the ALCAN, the south and central America portions of the Pan-American highway, the black hills-Glacier-grand Teton-Yellowstone-wind cave park loop, the Colorado-Utah park loop, and the Yosemite-Death Valley trip. Epic kind of trips that you remember the rest of your life.

Here's the thing, the planning for the two of us and our dogs taking one of those trips is essentially the same amount of work as planning for several couples or families. Actually, several families would be easier in some respects because you would have multiple drivers and vehicles, so you wouldn't have to duplicate resources. Things like the side trip on the ALCAN of driving up to Prudhoe bay would be easier if you could leave the RV behind and pile into the 4wd SUV for that jaunt, or if someone wanted to spend a night in one of the grand old railroad hotels but couldn't take their dog. Or maybe someone can only do part of the trip because of their vacation schedule, maybe they fly in and meet the group for a leg and fly back out?

To that end, if I start planning a big trip for next year, something like the ALCAN trip, would any GRMers be interested in coordinating the trip with us? I'd rough out an itinerary, tweak as necessary, then coordinates logistics for getting as many of you involved as want to go.

If you're doing national parks, I am very interested. Wife and I decided when we got married to hit one new NP per year, so we are always planning a NP trip.

You're a couple years off for us. We need to jettison a couple of kids at least. Our plan is to drop the last kid off at college, strap a rooftop tent to the FJ Cruiser and hit the four corners of North America. Key West, somewhere south in Baja, Prudhoe Bay, and pretty much all of Newfoundland. I've already driven far south in Mexico, and to southern Alaska with friends and Mrs. Deuce and I hit Key West before we were married. We're looking forward to tying it all together in one absurd push.
