I borrowed them from the library, decided to read all of them since I have the time right now.

However the copy I got from the Library is a Preview Edition, Signed copy of Montezuma's Ferrari.

These must have been donated, because I am reading The Fabulous Trashwagon right now (it's from a different library) and it is also signed to "Judy" and is a first edition.

Thought it was kind of crazy

I think he signs all of them if you buy them from him.

Thats true, I did see that on his website. I just thought it was cool that it was a preview edition.

for a while when I used to subscribe to CM he was a columnist .... even though I don't lean towards the classic car/vintage racing, he made the mag worth reading for me

I have them all, the latest is from another character's viewpoint. I love them and eagerly await the next edition.

I've only read "the last open road". It was good, but I just don't have time for the rest of them.

I'll have to look out for those. I take all my reading recommendations from GRM now. Just finished Lucifer's Hammer, after some folks on here said it was good, (it is!).

"200 MPH Steamroller" is supposed to be out soon. Instead of focusing on Buddy and his gang, it focuses on the young reporter guy that Buddy is friends with when he is hired as a consultant for "Fairway Motors" as they take on Ferrari at Lemans in the late 60s after Enzo wouldn't sell to them.

Sorry. I just happened to see what library you got it from and all I can think of is:

I think it was BS Levy himself who said the collectable versions of his books are the ones that are not signed considering how many he has signed.

The 200 MPH Steamroller is already out. I have a walk on roll in that book. He mentions me and the ambulance in it. I thought that was really cool.

I remember he signed a book to a friend (who posts on GRM, actually) something to the effect of "To anyone stupid enough to let me drive your car, Im surprised you can read." I thought that was great.

I met BS Levy at Road America at a vintage race a few years ago and he "acted" like a real tool.......but I just got his first book from the library this week and I am impressed with the first book. This guy can really write!

You may have caught Burt on a bad day. He's an extremely entertaining guy, and a good friend of GRM / CMS. He usually goes out of his way to be friendly.

and I love the Svengoolie reference! Almost as bad as 588-2300......Empire.

I said he "acted" like a tool but I probably caught him off guard that day. Hey we all have days where we look at ourselves and wonder who the crabby old man is........"get off my lawn"

I just got Toly's Ghost today from the library. I took a look at the advertisements in the center and I'm trying to understand the fake ads and magazine articles for the "exotic" car company. Guess I need to read the book to find out

I met him a Sebring this year, I can understand where the 'BS' comes from. by the time I finally got through the line, I missed a chance to meet Vic Elford. I found him pleasant and funny. He even remembered my daughter calling him to order a book.

I've met Burt several times and raced against him. He has always been friendly and outgoing. Although he is a bit "direct" as Chicagoans tend to be. Just a midwestern thing that doesn't always play well with southerners.

I read all his books up through "Toly." I think I bought them all from Burt at races and he signed them for me. Frankly, each book got harder and harder to read. The Last Open Road was professionally edited and the rest were, well, not. When I bought "Toly" a few years ago I opened it and tried to read the wall of text on the first few pages, sighed, and put it down. I haven't picked it back up since, and don't expect to buy the next one.
