One thing that you will find is wrestling is not big at all in Texas. It's just not a priority.
Other than that, Is Houston better than Pekin...I think so but it's really a different world. Small town, IL vs the 3rd largest city in the US. You are 4 hours from a lot of things. There is a lot of racing near. MSRH on the southside, MSRC 4 hours north, NOLA, 4.5 hours away, COTA, 3 hours away, and TMS 4ish hours away. TWS is 2 hours away but it will be a housing development soon.
Getting from one side of town to another can be a challenge. I covered Houston as part of my sales territory and was there a lot. You can get good and fresh gulf seafood from there. I wouldn't live there personally because I'm not looking for a big city again after living in Chicago but I have family here and I'm at MSRH at least a couple times a year.
