We all knew it would at some point and I'm not giving any other context besides a link.

It is safe for work by the way as it's a smartphone app.

This has scam written all over it.  Even if legit, it's a terrible idea.

Like any investment, there are the blue chips and the gambles. Had you bought a 911 at the right time, you'd be laughing. Everybody with a 50's American car already has what they want. Meanwhile, classic Ferraris just keep climbing.

I peruse it every few months. Some stuff is neat other stuff you really have to wonder who their audience is. I was really heavily into both Uncrate and GearPatrol when I was going through my microbrand watches and DE razor phase.

I've bought a few things (Halios Laguna and a concrete shave bowl are the ones right off the top of my head) based on the "That's cool" factor from being featured there.

In today's world of bitcoins and cryptokitties, the relative lack of stupidity in this is almost refreshing.

I was surprised to see that a 512 bbi is legitimately a $300k+ car. Wow those have been going up in value.

I was reading somewhere that cryptocurrencies are legitimately profitable to invest in.

As long as you get in on the ground floor, and sell it all after a month or two.

So - somebody came up with a business model to have other people pay him to accumulate and drive a collection of classic cars. I'm just jealous I didn't think of doing that first.

If I'm not mistaken this was also a thing in the overheated economy of the late 80's. Somebody made money on it but it wasn't the investors.

I told my wife the other day that as soon as the economy tanks I'm going to start looking for a 70 Z28. I really want one but they're too expensive now.
