Bob Stretch, of World Challenge and Trans Am fame, is currently looking for a Team Manager to oversee his 4, possibly 5 car Trans Am Camaro team as well as personal car stuff out of his shop in Arlington Texas. Better bring your A-Game as he is reining Trans Am TA2 Champion from 2011 and 2012.
He and I have been talking for the past week, though I would love this type of position, I can't really re-locate the family to Texas. My gig here at the Ferrari Parts place is good. I am talking to see if there is a possibility of me being a car chief for next year.
If you are interested, PM me your resume and email address and I will forward it on to him. Not for the faint of heart. Gonna be long nights, weekends, miserable conditions at the track, lots of problem solving involved. Would need to re-locate to Dallas for this position too.
Pics for clicks:

I'd do terrible things for a position like that. I'm hopelessly under-qualified.
Does he need an engineer?

I'm happy thinking about it.
Sad I probably wouldn't stand a chance.
But I'd be cool if I did.
He emailed me a big checklist of what I can do, can't do, and several scenarios of "if the car is doing this, or the driver is complaining about that, what would you look at or adjust?"

I may PM just to have fun seeing those questions and trying to answer them.
Team manager = Problem solver and babysitter for the whining adults.
That said, I wish.
I'm in Texas... Can you PM me that stuff please?
Oh wow... Very unqualified for that... Damnit...

Well Paul, I am actually glad you are not making the move. It would be an awesome gig but maybe not with the fam in tow.
I am hoping you will be getting the call for fly in work as a car chief.
I would be lying if I said you getting your foot in the door wouldnt be awesome for me so I can get in on fly in work.

In reply to Anti-stance:
Yea. I'll be fine flying in to the track and being a car chief. Not that I don't want that position, but I just don't want that responsibility quite yet. If I can get Sheehan and Stretch to agree to be his car chief, God knows he needs a better one than dude who was on it over the weekend. He should be relegated to taking the wheel weights off the barrels and cleaning the wheels.
"don't you need to check the wheel bearings before taking the wheels of?" - me
"nah, we aren't worried about that." - him
looks at Paul confused and worried - me
In reply to Anti-stance:
Hahahaha.
It wasn't my/our intention to make him look bad, but c'mon... This isn't drag racing. If you are in charge of a car, it is your responsibility that all the tasks are completed and everything is checked. Not "Hey, did you torque the wheels down?" as it sits on Pre-Grid. He needed to make sure it was done. He needed to make sure that the pressures were set. Not only did it roll out onto Pre-Grid with pressures at Tech specs, but he was too busy smoking a cigarette and didn't triple check things over like the pressures, cool suit, drink bottle, tools and gloves in the car. Just a real sad display of management.
Bump to the top.
He has formally offered me a contract. Would like to forward some more applicants on to him before I set it in stone.
If you're interested, PM me with a resume.
