I want a piece.

No really, i want to figure out how to get in the line for the new jobs that open up after the outgoing guys get their car voucher and big check to walk.

I can relocate from Lansing (a GM manufacturing center) TO Clarkston (Oakland County a GM, Chrysler and more manufacturing center) literally without spending a single penny more per month on my housing.

What do I need to emphasize on my abundant resume and where should I go with it?

Seriously I know a $14.00/hr job sounds like it sucks but I am certain that I will be better off, and I am more concerned about getting out of "customer service" lately.

Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Don't go to Ford, they haven't gotten any bailout money.

Sounds like a good plan though!

As far as I have ever heard, you need to find a union employee who will give you their one recommendation/voucher to get in. At least, that is how the UAW plant back in my old hometown worked. Getting in through a present employee was the only way.

Well, many of the recent offers were toward people who had many years with GM, and they want to go with the cheaper, younger crowd.

Go to GM.com and ask.

if you have a resume, you're overqualified.

From what I am gathering there is a little animosity towards the incoming guys for displacing the outgoing guys and contaminating the gene pool. I have a current employee checkin the openings boards for the CTS plant.

Looks like the best place to be locally.

I'm pretty sure a lunch box on wheels would get checked on the way out at night.
