No my marriage is fine.. I just found out about an hour ago that I am being terminated as of the end of the day today due to restructuring. I am going to be in the position for another position. I have a sales/marketing/vendor/field rep background but am open to new ventures. If anybody has any leads or idea, they would be greatly appreciated.
Male prostitution isn't as bad as it sounds.
That sucks.
Anybody have opinions on online resources like Monster?
What other resources are good these days?
My show could use a sales marketing guy. You can have half my cut of what you sell. I don't think that's livable...

Posted at 3pm, a whole ~2hr notice? How nice of them. Any chance you'll get unemployment/severance/vacation day refund/etc?
Back in 2007 I found out the Friday before I left for vacation to Hawaii. They specifically wanted to tell me before I left so I didn't get sideswiped by it when I came back. Certainly made drinking Hawaiian rum much easier!
I received unemployment and thanks to the programs in place at the time, I was able to collect for quite a while until I finally landed a position. It sucked to be home with plenty of things to do project wise but no money to spend on the bits and pieces you needed to complete them combined with the depression of not having a job, not finding anything, etc.
All I can say is try to keep your head up and make getting a job your job. Meaning get up bright and early every morning and hit the want ads, job sites and even go to local companies and ask directly. If you want to post up the type of job you're looking for, we'll all keep an eye out for ya.

We had a guy let go on Monday, right before lunchtime they just said, "Hey pack your stuff, you no longer work here."
OP, Indeed.com and speak with some local recruiters/head hunters.
Actually, the place I'm contracted to is always hiring out of town sales and what-not. In town as well. All based out of StL.
Hit me up private if you're curious. I have a good relationship with HR.
Honestly I'd stay away from the head hunting sites. I've had better luck applying directly through the companies website and following up. Use head hunting sites to scope out open jobs; but, apply through company website or in person. Where are you located?
If your state applies Aerotek helped my find a good job in a (for me) less than tolerable city and has been nothing but helpful on my possible move to the west.
Hope the best of luck for you!
If you are in Sales / Marketing try leveraging your network. When I went through a RIF over a year ago, I made sure that the word got out that I was going to be available. I had my first interview and offer within 6 hours from a former executive at my company. I ended up passing on that offer, but got a call the following Monday from a partner and ended up accepting a position with them.
Moral of the story is that your personal network is better than any website.

I am located in eastern Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. I will be getting a commission check from 2013 and be paid up until yesterday which will all help. I am looking for field rep/vendor/merchandising work mostly but might explore other options.
I am a car guy and looked at the Manheim website. There is a location not too far from me with some open positions so I will be applying there.
