let me get this straight..
you owed $3k on the car, sold it for $2.5k and spent the money immediately. you did not have full rights to the car when you sold it.
either a) you spent the $2.5k plus some more to pay off the lein and can just contact them to release it, or b) you spent the $2.5k elsewhere in which case you're in deep kimchee.
trying not to jump to conclusions here but you're coming off as shady and dishonest.
In the real estate business they call that a short sale. Now the leinholder can get a government bailout and still go after you for the money.
"Sure, we'll send you that title release, just give us the current address and we'll have someone courier it right over... they may show up in a tow truck - don't worry about that!"
I don't believe a word of this story.

is it the use of the word "sale" where "sold" and "sell" should be?
Too bad God didn't give you a brain, common sense or a sense of self worth. My gawd... what have we raised in our society to think that it's OK to not repay debts?
Is there a reset button? Can we start this generation over?
I wonder what he spent the money on?
In reply to spitfirebill:
I don't know but he sure did spend it fast and apparently on something that cannot be resold.
And frankly, I am still mad that this story had nothing to do with a Porsche 911.
It looks like the kid and all of his posts are gone.
In reply to Otto Maddox:
yep, I just hit the thread and am having a hard time figuring out what all happened...other than some dude did something stupid, his mom somehow bailed him out, and now he is done with the forum.

We should at least make it politically related.

Good spot.
It appears he has a tendency to leave questions unanswered.

You know? Not like it's grassroots titlesports.
My avatar led him to believe I can help him defraud lenders.

Hows recovery going?
Not anywhere near fast enough. No more pain meds either On the bright side, I got out of the house today and went to the shelter and patted some kitties. Now my kitties are PO'd.

Judging by your avatar that didn't go too well?

Prison computers are limited to GRM.
Wow, I'm kinda sorry I missed it. Did he really try to defend selling a car with a lien on it? I did once have a co-worker ask me (in all seriousness) if his lender would attempt to take back his van if he simply stopped making the payments.

Not really.... he sounded like he genuinely didn't know. Didn't really defend his choice at any point.
He sounded inexperienced and uneducated on the subject, not malicious. But you know how things are on forums.
