After a long hiatus I'll be embarking on a new project soon, probably the largest undertaking I've done thus far. Whereas my other projects completion times were measured in months I suspect this will be 2 or more years. More on that later, when it arrives I'll start a build thread.
However as is my typical MO I start parts shopping/purchasing before I even get the vehicle. This project is coming without wheels and as I'll be changing out the entire suspension that was fine but I needed something to make it a roller when the suspension is built. Ideally I'd find something in sizes close to what I wanted to build to so I could test fitment and adjust the vehicle to fit. But I was really just looking for some crappy steelies to make it a roller for now.
Well after a few days of watching marketplace and other venues these popped up. 17x9 (275/45/17) fronts, 17x10.5 (315/35/17) rears. Probably my 2nd choice in wheel styles for what I was planning to do but for $250 they are at least great to build to and will probably end up as the final wheel because I do like the style (first choice was steelies with baby moons in similar size.
Im a bit giddy with excitement because Im already bleeding budget everywhere but Im starting with the frame and suspension build and it will really help to have the right size wheels to build to. Not that there's a "right size" but rather the size I wanted to use so I can fabricate the rest to fit.
