I've seen this on city-data forums and always enjoyed it. Basically, take any city's economic and cultural features, and overlay on another existing city/town's geography/climate.

For example, I'd take Pittsburgh or Minneapolis/St.Paul and plop on the geography/climate of Anniston, Alabama.

I love Pittsburgh's diverse job market, love of cycling and mountain biking, history and progressive politics, but would love to have winter temps that average in the 50's as opposed to Pittsburgh's 30's.

Remember, you can't take the geography and climate of the city with you. So for example, I couldn't take San Diego's beaches, dry weather, or endless sun with me to Philadelphia. I'd just get expensive housing and endless commutes in Pennsylvania.

Can we switch small towns for small towns? I don't want to live in or all that near to a city.

As Minneapolis resident, that sounds just awful. It's already hot and humid enough here in the summer without moving to Alabama.

I'd switch Dallas and Fort Worth just to expose the east side to culture and the west side to insanely fast, aggressive driving. That's just me though. Arlington would still suck.
