I've seriously never heard of this guy. Apparently he's well known, famous even. It's not an uncommon statement in threads like this. There's really no more to it than that. I have no idea wtf you're talking about and seriously thought you were trolling me, hence the smartass reply
I didn't know his name but I certainly knew his face. He was an iconic drummer. The Foo Foghters have been a top band for so long and his drumming and stage presence were huge especially when you are there with Grohl.
Sorry for his family and his band mates. That has to be terrible to go through. Sudden, foreign place, long time friend, public. All things that add to the difficulty.

Dave Grohl is amazing, but I'm siding with the people who thought Hawkins was better.
