I wonder who holds the current no series appearance/wins record.

My Seattle Mariners have to be in the running. They won 114 games in 2001 and still didn't make the world series.

Obviously the Indians now have the longest streak without a win.

Longest without a WS appearance are the following:

  • Nationals/Expos; Never been in, established 1969
  • Mariners; Never been in, established 1977
  • Pirates--1979; last appearance and win
  • Brewers/Pilots; Never won, last appearance 1982
  • Orioles/Browns; last apperance and win 1983

I'm a die hard fan, there is always hope. OTOH, they lost the WC, signed Tebow, and this morning the AA team was just renamed the "Rumble Ponies". A very trying month.

I say we start spreading the word about "The Curse of the Marlins Guy."

Just thinking about some odd things in that game. Questions I have:

  • When was the last time that 3 catchers for the same team had RBI's in the same playoff game--let alone World Series Game--and they all caught as well?
  • When was the last time a player hit a home run in the last game of the WS and retired after?
  • When was the last time that the winning team had 3 errors in the clinching WS game?
  • When was the last time that a pitchers first save appearance was in game 7 (or any clinching game) of the WS?

Thinking about the redemption that Ross must have felt after that solo shot blew a little dust into our living room last night.

Wow, that was an amazing game. I can't remember when I was last on the edge of my seat watching baseball.

Also, someone on another forum noticed something that I wanted to share. In 1989, BTTF 2 predicted the Cubs would win in 2015. That doesn't look accurate, until you account for the 94 strike, in which case the 112th World Series would've happened in 2015. Mind blown?
