one more "casualty"
i moved the vette out to get the wife's rendezvous in the garage to change the transmission. i forgot to see if the gas cap was on it from changing the fuel pump. the drain around the fuel filler couldn't keep up with the downpour, and today i went to move the car that had an almost empty tank over the weekend. i fired it up, it quit a few seconds later, and then looked at the gauge. full tank - of water.
disconnected the lines and used the pump to empty the tank as far as it would go so my pump at least wouldn't be sitting in water for a couple more days.
If your county has been declared a disaster area you may be able to get financial aid for uninsured losses. I know no structures were involved but that can be one hell of a hit financially. Was it board member cutter 67 that lost a fleet of vehicles to flooding? Sorry to hear about your situation patgizz, please keep us updated.

Yeah Cutter lost a lot of cars to flooding RIGHT before I was heading up to pick up his low mileage 928 S4, as in I already pulled the $$ out to head up there when I got the news. Talk about bad timing. I still try and keep in touch with him, but haven't heard much recently. It's a shame because he always had some cool cars for sale.
I posted this in the for sale thread, but guess I'll mention it here to: My 84 diesel blazer was under water past the roof for a few days during the tn floods a few years back. I went through it draining all the water, changing all the fluids etc and got it running and driving again. The radio and glow plug controller died but everything else was okay once good and dry, so all might not be lost with these. The blazer is still going strong to this day.
Patgizz- Sorry about all your losses during the flood and glad it wasn't even worse. Also very happy to hear you all saved your pup.

the blazer and suburban belong to my mom and dad, and he's in "i'm fed up with this BS" mode so they're going either way, he doesn't want to deal with it.
my 68 has water in the oil but being a 292, the carb is so darn high water didn't get up in the cylinders, so it can be saved. i just need to get it to a place i can drain things. i'm mostly keeping the truck around to use the cab, engine, and title to build a ramp truck.
there are the intentional projects, the "oh crap the stupid buick needs the trans replaced" project, and the flood created several others that we just don't have the time or drive to get to right now.
