Yeah, yeah, I know, Jalopnik, blah, blah. I still found this pretty interesting: https://jalopnik.com/the-legend-of-pb-blaster-1846039311
New cars weren’t his world. His world was rust. Which is the part of this story where PB Blaster — like my dad, born in the late ’50s in northeastern Ohio — comes in. I can’t remember my first encounter with PB Blaster, but my enduring memories of it from childhood are like bad PB Blaster commercials: We’re trying to loosen a seized nut and keep soaking it with WD-40 before someone in the garage — probably my uncle — has the good sense to grab a can of Blaster.

People using it for arthritis? "Hmm, PB Blaster freed up this rusty hinge. My knuckle is a rusty hinge..."

My order of least favorite smells in the automotive restoration world
#1. 30 year old gas
#2 PB Blaster
#3 gear oil
#4 mouse nest
The extra special bit, touch any one of those and you will be carrying that odor with you all day long. But damn I hate the stench of PB Blaster.

ATF needs to be on that list too. I'd actually rank it above gear oil.
I used PB Blaster 30 years ago.
I don't now.
PB Blaster is the Dr. Bronner of penetrating fluids.
I prefer Kroil for penetration and odor.

Being a FIAT enthusiast from Ohio I quickly learned AeroKroil is waaaaaay better than PB.
I love the fact that it's a small company that hasn't sold out.
Decent at rust removal, better as a Porn Star name. Its PB Blaster!

I know some people love the smell, but I can't stand it.
All it takes is a loose drop in the garage and suddenly the whole house smells like PB Blaster. God forbid you get it on your clothing.

Interesting, but reading the title of the Jalopnik article I thought it would go more into the history of it and such.
I actually like the smell of both PB blaster and ATF. I'm ok with fresh gear oil but old stuff is one of the worst smells ever. I will have to try AeroKroil stuff, never used it.
Do any of you have experience with weasel piss?

Acetone and ATF, right?
Never used it myself, but I've heard good things
I've heard both that it's amazing and that it is just internet hype. I have never tried it.
We do do some flushing with just ATF here at work though and it works well as a degreaser.
I love the smell of PB Blaster, but it's much better on a bolt than in an eye (I wear goggles now).

LOL, I thought this was a submission for the bad smell rankings!

I've tried it. It's not any better or worse than anything else.
And for the record, I like the smell of PB B'laster (I never knew the lightning bolt was an apostrophe).
I can't stand the smell of PB Blaster. I don't buy it specifically because of that.
In a perfect world, PB Blaster would smell like Hoppe's No. 9.
I cant stand the smell of PB, or Kroil. But I use a lot of both, at home or work. They weren't made to sniff for fun, and are fan***tastic at their job.
WD-40 had fish oil in its original formula. Thats why some folks started using it on their joints. The placebo effect is why it is still used by some. I guess since PB replaced WD for rusty bolts...
Hard to rank new gear oil against new ATF. WAY worse is well used up... of either!!! And, again hard to rank them!
ATF smells bad? It smells at all, before it's burned up?
Huh. Who knew...
