So, what did you get?
I haven't driven up to my parents' house yet for the proper Christmas Morning Experience (c), but so far I've got an awesome LED work light and a mug that says "Science doesn't care what you believe."

I got all of the stuff to covert my mountain bike to tubeless tires and a couple of sweaters. Get my tires converted today and off for a week of mountain biking goodness since I'm off from work all week.
Yesterday an LED flashlight, Star Wars books "The Jedi Path" and "The Sith way", Star Wars mug (I sense a theme) and this:
See what today holds. Happy whateverseasonalbasedholidayyoucelebrate.
Well... I ordered a Kiesel (Carvin guitars) Vader V6 with the freshly introduced Trem system yesterday. Maple neck, ebony fretboard (w/ side markers only), ash body with a walnut top, satin finish. I should see it in 8-10 weeks.
It's just my mother and I and we kinda stopped exchanging gifts awhile ago. Sometime in Jan & Feb we'll find some nice restaurants to try.
So far a dash cam and an awesome bandheld led work light. (Nebco big Larry)

Wow!!
I got my wife a new house, new table and chair set, new bed and mattress.
That's what I got for Xmas.
I got this today:
But tomorrow is the big present. We get our new house and I get my garage! (Build thread coming soon!)
Yeah, I got a similar thing as Fueled by Caffeine, new house for the wife. It does have a 24'x48' shop in the basement though . I also ordered a bunch of cheap games on the winter Steams sale. We don't do much in the way of adult gift swaps anymore. No one wants to buy me parts (car, bike, or computer) so they don't try anymore, thank God.
I did give myself the gift of two smashed fingers with a high lift jack yesterday, so that is nice.
An Epiphone Les Paul Special II. Was planning on buying it with the money my parents will give me, but SWMBO had no ideas for me so she made me buy it early. I've futzed with instruments for years and decided it was time to properly learn. And the package was a heck of a deal.
My left fingers already hurt!! My goal this year is just build callouses and muscle memory.
Then some stuff for the kitchen and wireless earbuds. Oddly, no clothes of any sort this year.

I asked for world peace. Instead Mrs. Editor did what she could and got me a cool Bob's Burgers pompom knit cap. I wore it last night while watching 1941. It works very well.
Cool to see the guitar gifts. I'm eying another PRS for myself. We'll see if that happens. Maybe.
I got a weather station, HF welder, flannels, and a Bedford Springs Resort pullover so I can pretend to be Thurston Howell the Third.

Jeff Kiesel (yes - the same Jeff Kiesel who owns the dominating E-Mod Bugeye auto-x car) did a FB-live presentation for the new bridge, and I was feeling weak. I've never had a headless guitar before, so it should be interesting.
It's funny... although I've known about Carvin guitars for years (and even owned one a long time ago), I knew of Kiesel from autocross before I knew his day-job was a guitar builder.
My wife and kids got me a drone with a hd camera that i can link to my phone. Should be interesting. Also a big variety box of k cups
I got my lift about six weeks ago. Early Christmas.
Today I got coffee and zip ties. Coffee and zip ties are critical for my type of auto repair.
Update: Nonstick pots and pans (3 years with only cast iron—had to break the streak at some point), new speakers for the van, books, gift cards, and a few other odds and ends got added to the pile. Life is good!
A new auto darkening welding helmet (last one lens was OK except for the plastic inside the helmet was crap)
A program called Fore Flight, like GPS for flying. We're going to New Mexico in April, that's Christmas enough.
Merry Christmas all !!
I won't pretend I don't like getting awesome stuff, but having a good answer for what to give helps so much with relaxing into the season. Fortunately:
The person who tops all my lists had a specific request for heated gloves, and it looks like my research paid off in selecting a good pair
I have established a tradition with my extended family, and leave a big box of fun socks and airline-size booze bottles at my parents' house when I visit, which all the extended family can choose from. It's fun to shop for, and folks seem to really enjoy it.
On the receiving end, The Wearer of Heated Gloves got me a copy of Yellow Jersey Racer, the book about Greg LeMond. I'm super-stoked, being a huge LeMond fan, and the book looks fantastic!
