LOL. I am on vacation, but at work finishing a report. I am also annoying everybody I can.
I'm off work in about 3 hours. I'll be leaving straight from there for home (Columbus GA ---> Kansas City, KS). Going via ATL, Nashville, and St. Louis. If anybody happens to see a clapped-out, fenderless red Beetle, give me a honk and a wave.
Lame duck employment is both annoying and entertaining. I just put in my self-review "MTN performed an extensive study on the coffee offerings in the cafeteria. His results, provided to his coffee-buddies, resulted in a higher morale among the coffee-buddies as they were able to determine the lowest chance of having coffee grounds in their mouth."

Don't be doing that here. We already have an annoying person

Still sick, eh? That sucks. My wife is sick right now. I was sick before her and my son before me. Be careful with that Benedryl. I hear it's a gateway drug!

At what point does one exchange benedryl for bourbon?
When I was in school, I had a really bad cold/flu- felt miserable. My roomate brought me this brown liquid... I knew it was some kind of alcohol, but shot it anyway. Sat me up quickly due to it's apparent harshness.
Took me a while to get over that, and then my stomach not exactly being used to that.
But two hours later, my cold and flu were much much better.
I thank Bicardi 151 for that.
In reply to alfadriver:
Grandpa always kept a bottle of Jacquins Ginger Brandy for uh, medicinal purposes.
I altered the dose just a little. Sippin' a water glass full sitting in a steamy hot drawn bath (bring the bottle). Straight to bed afterwards and sweat it out. Works for me.
Good medicine.
My grandparents used to make me boilo.
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 pound honey
1 orange quartered
½ to 1 lemon
1/4tsp caraway seed
Roughly half a fifth of whiskey (whatever’s cheap or handy)
Instructions:
Get a pot and add the water and honey give it a quick stir. Quarter the orange and squeeze the juice into the pot. Drop the orange into the pot (peels and all). Cut lemon in half, do the same thing you did with the orange. Add the caraway seed then heat over a medium heat for, meh, a while (30 minutes?) while stirring. Remove from heat, let it cool "just a bit" (maybe a minute or so) add the whiskey. I use 1/2 a bottle of whiskey, my wife prefers 1/4 of a bottle. Mix well, strain, and serve warm.
(caraway seed not required, but I like it)
I usually sip about 1/4 a pint per serving. I usually don't do more than 1/2 pint at a time (usually the 1/2 pint serving comes right before bed time).
If you have 1/2 pint mason jars fill them up, cap em, and refrigerate them for the next time you're sick. They'll keep.
When you re-heat the boilo just use a microwave but be careful not to let it boil.
Get well soon! Oh and don't operate heavy machinery.
Forgot. ANYTIME you serve boilo to someone else you have to repeat the boilo mantra:
"Cures coughs, colds, moles, sore holes, and pimples on the belly"

Don't worry, I'm not fit to carry his jockstrap.

I have some coughing virus and feel like crap. Out of the side of my eye I see my wife walking around the house quietly wiping down door handles and counters with a disinfectant wipe.
My mom bought a Datsun 310 brand new in 1981. She only had it for a couple of years though cause she me my future step father who had two kids already so they traded it in and bought a station wagon.
This was in '83 and she's kinda short and couldn't see well out of it so she was complaining to the salesman that a van that was "shrunk down, like it had been in the dryer on high heat." would be really cool to have.
A year later Dodge made history....
Old superhero movies are pretty funny that way. Batman, superman are both fairly wimpy
I have my first and last final of the semester in about 37 minutes.
glad i don't go to school anymore, college finals were a pain.
i've got a 7:45 doctor's appt tonight, feel like crap and have a sinus infection creeping toward my ashtmatic lungs way too quick for mucinex to fix. so i did what anybody would do in my case, filled the truck with free firewood until myself or truck could not take any more. then grabbed my other truck with work trailer hooked up and took it to the dumpster to unload all the trash from monday's big job.
I was twenty minutes late for a college final once because I was in the junkyard trying to remove a front sway bar. It did not impact my career.
People need to stop coming in wanting E36 M3. I don't want to do anything else now. I'm done for the year.
