A week into the spring semester of my sophmore year I went to Daytona to help some guys with a Busch car and never went back. Judging by my grades at the time it probably didn't hurt my career either.

So I'm sitting in my shop, beating on the computer and listening to my son cuss at his Nissan Quest. I realized that when I was his age, I was cussing a Nissan Stanza. That was my last Nissan and I'm betting this Quest will be his last Nissan.

Speaking of college, breaking news for my second school about a coach who is considering coming here. Between that and Chicago's QB, that fills an hour of SportsCenter. Funny.

Nah, this thread is rad. Its like a chat function. I am burremtly debating the merits of drinking a 1.5 of beer, bought because of its unusual size. Chipotle is on its way to me, and I'm watching RoboCop 3. This movie is E36 M3.

Somebody stopped at the office next to mine, asking the inhanitant if they knew anything about bourbon. I spouted- "it tastes good"....

She just wants on of the tiny bottles for a brownie recipe. So Jim Beam it is, then.

When I was about 14, a friend of mine and I, swiped a bottle of Jack from his dads liquor cabinet, hopped in his jon boat and went hydrosliding. It was a nice HOT day. About 2 hours later, the boat was 50' up in the marsh and we were both puking our guts, chumming for fish. I haven't been able to enjoy brown liquor ever since. I've never been so sick in my life.

That's because they still drank and smoked, hadn't discovered steroids and liposuction, and a 6 pack came with beer attached.

I know this is the 70's, but there were some buff guys out there way back when:

At my bachelor party back in 1987 at my dads basement bar we cracked out Crown Royal and did a LOT of shots. Hours later I was at a strip club in Lyons, IL with my head hanging low.

Almost 28 years later I get queasy when I see those purple drawstring bags AND I quit drinking 20 years ago. Cold peppermint schnapps also makes me sick just thinking about it getting sick back in 1981. Yukon Jack........

In reply to Datsun310Guy:

I used to be a Screwdriver man. The guys I shot pool with were Bud drinkers. They'd go get a beer and bring me a double. One half wasted evening, I downed a large number of Jagermeister shots. I remember wanting to go blow in the Breathalyzer machine and I remember landing on the floor. I remember taking out about half the tables in the place on the way down. That's the last time I got drunk in public. Now an occasional glass of wine is about it for me. And even the thought of Jagermeister...You think that crap is nasty going down...

In reply to Datsun310Guy: I bought a bottle of Yukon Jack as a white elephant gift a few years back. I walked into one of my regular haunts, asked the liquor store guy what I bought for someone I hated. Incredulous looks were had. AFTER I explained to him what it was for, he told me Yukon Jack. Both the recipient and I took a pull off that bottle that night, to see what I had purchased. To this day I'm not quite sure what the hell it was.

The wife just negotiated a raise AND the ability to work from home next year. On one hand, I feel good because I coached her through the negotiation, on the other hand, I'll be working E36 M3ty retail hours for the 8th year in a row. At least I have a job that pays well.

1982, Gravelrama, and a LOT of Yukon Jack.

Finally at 2am our camping neighbors asked us politely to turn off Bob Seger and to quiet down a bit. They were kind enough to cook us breakfast.

I was at a Christmas party years ago where a friend drank among other things quite a bit of goldschlager. One the way home he puked in a gas station and it had a most festive shimmer.

I read the local paper almost every night at work during my breaks.

Demotivation: reading about a baseball player who was just signed to a $155 million, 6 year contract with a $30 million bonus.

He throws a berkeleying ball and occasionally whacks one with a berkeleying stick... what a berkeleying crock of berkeleying E36 M3!

In a week he makes as much as I would make in 9 years.

er... wait that was a rant...

For some reason Little Kings comes to mind. You could only get them in Ohio. Are they still available? Tiney little 8 ounce beers that were very smooth but boy did they have a kick

interesting thing happened yesterday on the fiesta faction.

At 11:30 AM, someone posted ONE LONG paragraph word problem with apparently 2 questions in it.

The next post at 5pm was telling the forum off as nobody answered the questions.

I only look at the site once a day, as the traffic is super light. So I didn't even see the post until this morning. Then trying to read one massive paragraph of which appears many run on sentances- it was hard to figure out where it was going.

Still- it's interesting that this world of the internet and ADD have people thinking that if a very hard question isn't immediately answered, then they are worthless. Do they really think that people read 24/7, especially the posters who can answer those questions?

As opposed to the guys getting paid millions to drive a car on a strip of road, of course.

For many many years, the top paid atheletes were F1 drivers.

I'm not AS incensed about someone being paid millions for wrangling a high-powered, high-strung vehicle at ludicrous speed as I am about a meathead getting paid millions to whack a ball with a stick.
