I'm not AS incensed about someone being paid millions for wrangling a high-powered, high-strung vehicle at ludicrous speed as I am about a meathead getting paid millions to whack a ball with a stick.
potato, potaato- it's all entertainment.
I'm sure on the Grassroots Baseball forum, someone is angry about Fernando Alonso getting paid so much by some name they've never heard of when he left Ferrari.

"I lost my khakis." means something completely different in Boston.

When I see or use the word avatar, I always wonder why the movie was considered to be so good. Basic good vs. evil + love story just on a different planet.
In reply to alfadriver:
It was the visual effects etc. that brought it out. But I agree... the basic story was nothing new or exciting.
I never bothered to see it, I figured it was a slightly more visually impressive Fern Gully with war added into the mix.
I don't even know what a Fern Gully is...............
THERE WERE COOL hovercrafts and E36 M3 getting blowed the hell up.

So I'm sitting in my shop, beating on the computer and listening to my son cuss at his Nissan Quest. I realized that when I was his age, I was cussing a Nissan Stanza. That was my last Nissan and I'm betting this Quest will be his last Nissan.
My wife's first car was an '88 Stanza. I worked on it.
I will never own a Nissan.

There was a whole.forum of emo berkeleyers that would whine and complain about how earth wasn't like Pandora and not watching avatar made them depressed and the only thing that cured it was seeing more avatar..... Right then and there I vowed never to see the movie. That's two Cameron movies I will never see, titanic being the other. The boat sinks get over it.

The emos obviously haven't heard of the Tianzi mountains in China:

I never saw Titanic either, I did see an adult based adaptation with a similar name ending in "-antics" though. The actress playing the part of Rose almost drowns, well almost chokes and I guess almost drowns as well, at the end. Also the tip was even far less then 30% in most cases I'd say it was more like 10%.
what's an emo?
As for movies like avatar and that dream one a few years ago- it's not as if people previously were not creative. It's that they didn't have the tools for the effects that we can do now. Which is why I don't put the graphics of it any more than the original Star Wars- in the time period, they were the best of the best.
To me, it's just as creative to come up with the concept of a space station so large that it's like small moon as it is to come up with an alternate planets version of life. Big deal.
Funny now to think- Titanic and Avatar are very similar stories- love of two unlikely people with other bad people around them. One set in a sinking ship, the other on an alterante planet.
Avatar=Disneys Pokahontas. Just different bad white men.

If its the one I saw I was surprised they called it Boob-tanic when there was a more obvious spoof.

Some people don't like my avatar. I have considered using this one instead, so that I don't offend those people:
I really hate trying to find a Christmas gift for my father. He's as bad as I am, but with more money. If he want's something, he buys it. That leaves the rest of us trying to find something he would want if he knew about it. Ties are out, he's got 100s of them left from when he was a suit.
Back to the Googles.

I bought my 20 year old daughter a lego set. My buddy is looking for a nice jack-in-the-box for his 22 year old.
Buy him something cheap and stupid.
