White Castle has good coffee and for some reason the little donuts are a favorite.

We have a few in PA as well.
It's funny, to me anyway, that less than 3 months after I quit drinking the McDonald's across from my usual bar shut down.

I can assure you that Waffle House extends further into VA and NC than that map shows
They are scattered in PA. I-Hop seems more common, although most of those near me have closed. The closest Waffle House to me is over an hour drive in PA. Maybe one slightly closer in NJ.

From my part of PA, White Castle is closer than waffle house. Got all excited when I googled and saw one in Washington, 30 minutes away, then saw "permanently closed".

The closest WC to me is also over an hour away in Allentown - not far from the Waffle House... which probably not a coincidence.
My favorite late night drinking stops were
1. Local taco bus
2. Waffle House
3. Taco Bell
Or buy a curry beforehand and put it in the fridge then reheat later.

Got to feed those sled dogs something cheap when you run out of elk meat and roadkill.

I live in a fast food desert. It's at least 1/2 hour to any fast food place so I keep the downstairs freezer filled with my favorite brand of Frozen pizza's Burgers, etc. anything that I can microwave.
Well, it's also where we keep the lobster, Scallops, Crab, Ham, Turkey, and other stuff.

Allentown? Huh. That's where my silicone supplier is. Maybe I should take a ride out one of these days.
In reply to Ian F (Forum Supporter) :
I had no idea there was a WC in Allentown, I'd been stopping in Jersey at the last exit off 78. I had been staying in a hotel behind the Waffle House every weekend we raced out there because I could walk next door for breakfast..

please keep the politics out we don't want to get locked.
Hey now moisture man! You are just jealous because any significant work for you involves dumping wet stuff everywhere! Ever rational person knows aircooling is the elegant solution to cooling!
But, it's OK. If you look down at the idea of free unlimited coolant, that's your perspective. I am good with that.
We all should really be more concerned that they are all cars, no mater how flawed some of their cooling systems are.
You say anything about pushrood tube seals, and I will find you!
(sorry, I pretty much HAD to post on this)

Well... as I zoom in, it's actually in Whitehall on Rt 145 near the Rt 22 interchange.
Oddly enough, I'm on Rt 145 with some frequency, but rarely on the south side of Rt 22, which is probably why I don't remember ever seeing it.
The Waffle House is farther east along 22 on Airport Rd.

It's the other way around...White Castle was first, the founder of Krystal copied them.
Doesn't make either better. There was one at the exit I took for work in Bradley Illinois for five years and I ate there once. Yech. In college everyone wanted it...

BTW - drunk food in SoCal is not In&Out, it's Tommy's (greasy cheesburger with chilli on it)
I guess that Bob's Big Boy is down to only a few locations now.

I miss the Squeeze Inn in NorCal. Big greasy burger with an 8 inch burnt cheddar ring extending around it.

Pushrod tube seals on old Corvairs. Yaaak!
That map is a crock. Pretty sure Denny's needs to be on it. You pretty much have to be drunk to eat there, and it's open 24 hours.

I was at a crowded Denny's late after drinking and as I went in I locked the door using the deadbolt. It was funny as people were knocking and banging on the door wanting to get in until the staff realized WTF was going on.
I stopped drinking 10 years later.

A good place to sit and eat. Or pass out.
