Greetings from South Florida:
(That's my second beer after arriving here at 2:00 this afternoon. Had to clarify that because Annie's glass is lower than mine. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)
GRMers from cold climates, come join Annie and me this week. We're at The Beachcomber in Pompano Beach. South Florida weather is spectacular in December this year. Not always this way.
One of the things we like to do when we're down here is to sit at a street side table with a drink on Los Olas Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale at the Riverside Hotel and watch the great enthusiast cars go by.
We have been in Naples the last 10 days and it has been spectacular. We are back to Michigan tomorrow. Enjoy your time done there!
I moved to southwest Florida 2 months ago. The weather is stellar! Enjoy your time down here.
What is SoNE?
In reply to DrBoost :
RI, CT, and southeastern MA are typically referred to as Southern New England, or SoNE ... a northeast version of SoCal
I grew up in south Florida (west palm, boca, Miami) and while the weather can be nice in December it's not welcoming in august. I still miss the beach and the snorkeling though. We can't head there now but maybe in may.
In reply to Gary :
I grew up on Cape Cod and never heard that. I thought Gary was referring to Southern Nebraska.
Florida looks nice though, consider me jealous.
Looking west (inland) from our fifth floor room. I thought this would make a nice pic, composition, clouds and all:
Nice!
My better half hasn't given up on her campaign to get us to sell our house in OKC and move to Florida. I would like the 5%+ I'd get back from no state income tax.

Same here, I was wondering if the weather in South Nebraska was ever particularly not-sucky.

I drove through Nebraska a while ago, it was beautiful. This is not my picture, but our view one day was about like this:
Well the weather in Nebraska was a mess yesterday. 90+ MPH winds and still amazed everything is still attached to the house. Florida would be much better right now.
