It seems, after reading the comments from unhappy relationships, that I have been extremely fortunate.
Married twice, both where partners in all ways. Unfortunately they were taken away too soon.
Seems to be a continuing trend.
I never said I was in an unhappy relationship...
just clarifying.

Really glad to see that, tuna.
When both parties are on the same page of the same book, the last page writes itself. It's all good............

How did this thread stray so far from the OT? Is the GTX getting fixed or not?!?
Heh!
Both GTXes are now off of driving duty and need engine rebuilds. The $2010 GTX has blown turbo seals and blown head gasket. GTX #1 has blown turbo seals and just needs a lot of love. Neither will get much love until I've got the RX-5? MX-7? Rotary Miata mostly sorted out.
The engine bay for the RX7 is mostly stripped now, just need someone with a clue to direct me on pulling the engine. Silver Miata is back in the garage waiting to be stripped down and franken-7d.
I bought a red '91 Miata as my DD...pre-sorted by my favorite CA mechanic, Paul @ Rotorsport. I have promised my friends that I will have ONE car that is not a project. You can see pix in my Google Plus feed at https://plus.google.com/#113234837885670559698/posts :D
That post about the resume was awesome.
If you were still in the Raleigh area, Dollraves, I'd help you with the FC for sure. The last one I pulled was out of a junkyard and me and a buddy had it done in 2 hours.
I'm still Really stoked that you're making an RX-Miata.

The new Miata looks great, but I'm even more impressed that you're google friends with Lore Sjoberg.

Actually, I'm real-life friends with Lore. Old table-top/WoW/gaming buddy. :D He and his lovely lady live in Berkeley, and now that I have a reliable car again, I should go see them! (Thanks for the reminder!)

Don't know what industry you're in, B_M, but I'm open to new opportunities in the content management/information architecture field. I would move back to Raleigh in a heartbeat if I could.
I am stupidly excited about this build! On one hand, it's slow going, but on the other, I'm doing a lot of research and having some good discussions with knowledgeable - or at least amusingly drunk - people as I go. :D

It is completely possible to be just friends with a girl and not be interested in dating them. Probably my closest friend is a girl and no I am not gay, I have been dating a different girl for getting close to six years.
Sure........IF you don't find them attractive.

@ Dollraves- if you still need help, I can point you towards a guy that's rebuilt his own FB in his garage with his own two hands about a million times. He's an MN guy... but he can probably walk you through it.

Get it as high as you can in the air, remove the upper shock mounts, remove all the front subframe bolts, cut or disconnect anything else left attached. Done!
In reply to dollraves:
Since you're friends with Lore and some of his content on Brunching Shuttlecocks amused me a long time ago, I'll give you some pointers:
- the only way to pull an FC engine is with the transmission attached. It saves a lot of time and aggravation.
- Use a leveller if you pull from the top.
- If you're not worried about saving a lot of things around the engine, you can pull it in 10 minutes with a Sawzall.
As for Raleigh, I'm just a lowly code monkey, but the economy here is still doing really well.
Oh, and say "hi" to Alex M. for me the next time you see her.
