Late September I'll be in Bozeman MT for a few days. I'm looking for cool things to do in the late afternoon/evening. I'm thinking scenic drives, abandoned places, cool sites.

I think Brent Musburger lives there. He's kind of a relic and might invite you in for a drink and let you take a photo... 
Virginia City and Nevada City are about an hour away. Virginia City is an honest Gold Rush town from the 1860s. Tourist season ends after labor day so a great time to go. Nevada City is close by but is a fabricated city. The buildings are old but they were moved there from somewhere else.
Its beautiful country so I doubt you can go wrong with a full tank of gas and a map.
