My wife is not a car person, but over the last decade i have gotten her used to having a nice car. The latest is an 05 Infiniti G35. It was perfect when we bought it, I mean not a blemish. Within a week I dropped a motorcycle ramp on it, providing both the first scratch and ding. 3 months later I am driving through an epic Oklahoma summer T-storm to meet her in Omaha when a full green high way sign (Like listeing three exits and their distance) that has been ripped from it's perch comes flying across the median and catches the poor thing perfectly on the front 1/4. Dings and sctraches the qtr, door, rim and A pillar.

I still feel like an ass about that and won't drive her car if I can help it

Whoever owned this V70r before me apparently used the touch method to locate curbs. Not a wheel on it without significant ugly damage. I am going to be PISSED if I end up doing the same thing to one of the 4 new OE wheels I just bought for it.

That's called 'parking by ear'. It's what led to the infamous bumper height regulations of the 1970's.
