"Oh that's why"
Mae West's 1931 Chevrolet Driving Trailer. Wasn't so much a camper as a stylish way for the Queen to commute, built by Paramount Studios.
No correlation to Margie, just giving information.....
Dredging this one up. Great news! Shasta is "reissuing" their 1961 Airflyte. I'm trying to dig up the money to order.
New trailer to new RV standards, less that 2000lbs, and $15k... I don't know if I could build one for that.

Yeah, that's very similar to ours--except, you know, not all rotten and with modern amenities. So what's wrong with us that we prefer the project? We're sick, I tell you, sick!

Clearly there is a co-marketing opportunity here.
The red/white reproduction Shasta would look much better with a white/red Edsel than it does with a Caddy on bad rims.

Our Shasta will look almost exactly like that when restored, but with a softer white, and will indeed be more fabulous with the Edsel.
Does this mean I have the original Cobra of trailers? And am I destined for a life of, "it's actually not a replica..."?
Margie
I didn't know you'd bought. I was thinking about building from scratch, but I don't think I could do it for the $15k buy in of a brand new Factory Five Shelby mkIV Shasta.
Oh, and your Edsel will look eleventy billion times better than the caddy. This one needs moar wagon.

ha. If you showed up with Clifford to purchase that trailer from me I would have E36 M3 my pants lol
I've seen some pretty huge campers behind tiny trucks before, but never have I seen a truck make a camper look so tiny...
Thanks for posting photos, Steve, since I've been a slacker and haven't put up any of my own :what the:
I'll take some of what it looked like after the cleanup and new foam this weekend, and see if I can get a proper build thread going.

Actually, we're shooting for this: TCT Returns to Cedar Key, Florida. Not with anything resembling a restored camper--we'll be pretty much primitive camping in it, which we already did for a week after we picked it up. But we do want to go to a Tin Can Tourists rally and pick the brains of other owners/restorers before we start tearing ours apart.
