Time for new shoes for the 4-runner (2007 - 265/17/65)? Oem was Bridgestone duelers. They weren't that good. Replacements were yoko geolanders. Not bad early. Downright scary in snow now. Any recommendations?

Firestone Destination A/T or Michelin Ltx m/s 2 or at2. Have researched these tires to death. Actually used Destinations on a Tacoma. Very smooth on highway, good in winter, fairly cheap. All these highly ranked on tirerack.

Nitto Terra Grapplers. I was not disappointed through 2 sets on the Avalanche.

I've got Firestone Destination A/Ts on my work truck and love them. Amazing traction on all surfaces I encounter. Good ride and quiet as long as you aren't on new asphalt.

I've got Kuhmo Road Venture A/Ts on the Samurai and love them too. Great traction, good ride and pretty quiet. That is on a 2000 pound vehicle and I'm only running about 20 psi in them.

another vote here. they do pretty much everything well, and the price is right. we're on our 2nd set currently, on our Xterra.

Cooper Discoverer AT3, BFG All Terrain TA, and General Grabber AT2 are also worth a look. The Generals seem to be a huge value and very capable.

I have the Michelin LTX M/S on my truck and was so impressed with the. That I put the A/T2 on my wife's FJ Cruiser. Both sets are among the best tires I've ever owned. I just rotated the for the first time on the FJ at 28k miles an only because the tread on the front was slightly more rounded that the rear. I have a little snow time on them and was happy. Wet and dry road driving is great.
The M/S on my truck is just as good and with 40k miles on the I didn't hesitate to drive it through the snow over Christmas. Also great wet and dry.
The Michelin's are expensive, but worth it.
